On Thursday, the U.S assembly in Pakistan made a statement in which they announced the expansion in the interview waiver criteria for Pakistani citizens based in Karachi and Islamabad wanting to renew their B1/B2 tourist and business visas.

As per the statement, All Pakistani citizens, regardless of age, whose B1/B2 visas are valid or have expired within the last 48 months are eligible to participate.”

Before this announcement the age bracket was limited to citizens aged 45 years and above.

This announcement has come as a sign of relief to many. The waiver is a step taken to provide better customer service and make the visa process more efficient. However, exclusions may apply to the waiver and some visa appliers may be asked to come in for an interview upon application submission.
