MNA’s son wedding reception held amidst lockdown in Karachi

Pakistan Tehreek-e- Insaf party’s MNA Aslam Khan’s son’s valima ceremony was held in Karachi thrashing all SOPS and lockdown measures. The ceremony had 500 invitations and more than 250 had flocked to the event held in the defence area of Karachi.

The law enforcement agencies and police came in but did not take any action despite the violation of SOPs was too clear. According to the police, they could not take any action until they had orders from the deputy commissioner or the assistant commissioner. The ceremony ended once the organizers had turned off the lights of the venue.

A strict lockdown had been in place from the 31^st July- 8^th August in Karachi and the Sindh province in the light of Coronavirus cases surge. With the closure of businesses, markets, educational institutions, postponement of exams and other measures, the city of lights has plunged into lockdown.
