Peshawar Suicide attack, 95 dead, 221 injured.

The tally of deaths due to the Peshawar suicide bombing go past 90, 221 wounded. The rescue operation is still underway to extract the bodies stuck under the rubble

The blast happened in the mosque inside Peshawar headquarters during the Zuhr prayers on January 30

KP Caretaker Chief Minister Muhammad Azam Khan announced a day of mourning and said, “The government share the grief of the martyrs’ families.”

PM Shahbaz Sharif along with the COAS Syed Asim visited the victims of the blast at the Lady Reading Hospital Peshawar.  Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Information Minister Maryam Aurangzeb had also accompanied the premier of Pakistan. PM Shahbaz Sharif vowed that “we will not let the sacrifices of martyrs go in vain.”

Taking to Twitter, the PM strongly condemned the incident by calling it an “Attack on Pakistan”.

Noted personalities like PTI Chairman Imran Khan, Malala Yousuf Zai, cricketers Shoaib Malik and Naseem Shah strongly condemned the heinous incident.

PTI Chairman and ex-premier Imran Khan sent his condolences and called the “need to equip police forces impetrative”

Pakistan All-rounder Shoaib Malik tweeted,”- I strongly condemn this blast in Peshawar Mosque. Sending many prayers to the families and everyone affected there. We should stay together in these tough times…”.

Malala Yousuf Zai feeling “shattered” and “heartbroken” sent her prayers to the victims.

Naseem Shah tweeted that he hopes “Allah brings back peace to the nation.”
