ISLAMABAD: Quetta Gladiators captain and Lahore Qalandars star pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi have decided to move on from their on-field spat which divided public opinion on social media.
The two cricketers exchanged heated words during their last encounter when Afridi treated Sarfaraz with a bouncer. The two then exchanged harsh words before senior players intervened to calm down the situation.
The spat drew mixed response from netizens who thought the pacer had the right to bowl a bouncer to his former captain Sarfaraz and that it was part of the professional sport.
Some argued that Shaheen Shah should have shown some respect to his senior.
The two took to Twitter on Thursday to bury the hatchet.
“Saifi bhai is the pride of all of us. He was and will always remain a captain for me. Whatever happened in the game that day was heat of the moment. I should have stayed quiet in respect of him. I have always respected my seniors and pray and wish the best for @SarfarazA_54 bhai,” Shaheen tweeted.
Sarfaraz welcomed the gesture, saying that all was good.
“It’s all good bro. Whatever happened in the field it should stay in the field. You are the star of Pakistan too. May Allah give you more success in life. You are little brother to me .All is well,” the former skipper added.
